Mr. Vaughan has over 36 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily focused on large scale oil and gas resource plays. Jeff has directed the development and sale of properties with a value in excess of $1.4 billion. Most recently, as CEO of Tracker II and TRZ Energy, Jeff led the team that assembled and developed a 170,000 acre position in the Bakken play in North Dakota. This property was sold to Hess Corporation in 2010 for $1.05 billion. Tracker Resource Development was originally formed in 2004 to manage oil and gas ventures in Texas and the Midcontinent for Sandefer Capital Partners, where Jeff also served as CEO of Entre Energy Partners. Jeff also formed Buena Vista Development for SCP in 2000 where he led the acquisition and development of properties in California that were previously part of the Naval Petroleum Reserve.
Mr. Vaughan started his career with The Williams Companies holding the positions of Supervisor of Joint Interest and Acquisitions, Drilling & Production Engineer, and Reservoir Engineer. After eight years at Williams, Jeff moved on to become VP of Operations for Giant E&P and Manager of Crude Oil and Natural Gas Trading for Giant Industries. Jeff is a Registered Professional Petroleum Engineer with a B.S. from the Colorado School of Mines. Mr. Vaughan is honored to serve on the boards of Colorado UpLift and the Tennyson Center for Children.
Shawn W. McCarter
Mr. McCarter has over 30 years of diversified management, leadership and engineering experience across the upstream and midstream energy sectors. Mr. Vaughan and Mr. McCarter founded Tracker in 2004. Prior to Tracker, Mr. McCarter was COO of Entre Energy Partners managing the development of oil and gas projects Texas. He was also the President of Red Rock Exploration and Copperhead Gathering, where he oversaw the development of projects in Oklahoma. From 1999-2002, Mr. McCarter led The McCarter Group, an engineering consulting firm. Prior to 1999, Mr. McCarter worked for Amoco Production Company and Amoco Corporation. Mr. McCarter is a Registered Professional Petroleum Engineer with a B.S. from The University of Texas at Austin.
James P. Wason
Mr. Wason has over 40 years of land managerial experience with special focus on Business Development and Acquisitions and Divestitures. Prior to joining Tracker Resource Development, LLC as Vice President of Land in 2008, Mr. Wason was the Director of Land for Petroleum Development Corporation managing their US Land assets. From 1991-2004, Mr. Wason was the Director of Land for Kerr-McGee Corporation, managing their Wattenberg assets. Prior to 1991, Mr. Wason served in leadership positions for large and small independent oil and gas companies in the Rocky Mountain region. Mr. Wason holds a B.A. from the University of Denver.
Mr. O’Keefe has almost 40 years of global upstream experience and has been Vice President of Geology with Tracker Resource Development, LLC since 2011. Prior to Tracker, he formed FXploration, llc as an independent geologist. Mr. O’Keefe began his career with Amoco Production Company in 1980, leading both domestic and international projects, and then joined BP Exploration Alaska when Amoco was acquired in 1999. F.X. is a Certified Petroleum Geologist with a B.S. in Geology from Bucknell University and a Master’s of Science in Geology and Tectonophysics from Texas A&M University.
